Medical Test To Request

Too often women with Breast Implant Illness (BII) will go to their local doctors only to be told their tests are “normal”. In keeping with the mission of the Implant Truth Survivors Committee we are offering this list of tests based on our experiences with this devastating illness. DISCLAIMER: we are NOT offering medical advice. What we ARE doing is providing a list of tests that might be helpful for women trying to gain access to medical care.


- Mycoplasma IgG, IgA and IgM to test for systemic infections that can present as “chronic fatigue”

- ANA – antinuclear antibody for autoimmune

- CBC – complete blood count

- CMP – comprehensive metabolic panel

- PM CORTISOL – to check adrenal hypo-function which is common in BII

- FREE T3/T4 – to check thyroid problems

- HOMOCYSTEINE – to check vitamin B12 or folic acid deficiency

- VITAMIN D 25 OH – vitamin D deficiency

- CRP-C – to detect inflammation

- VISUAL CONTRAST SENSITIVITY EYE TEST – to test for mold; this can be done at 

- EKG for heart – heart palpitations/increased heart rate is a common symptom of BII

- MRI or ULTRASOUND – to detect implant leaks/ruptures. REMEMBER: implants do NOT have to be ruptured or leaking to cause health problems. They bleed/sweat their contents from day one


- INFECTIONS – due to immune dysfunction additional testing for the following may be helpful:

- Fungus

- Bacterial

- Mycoplasma

- Intracellular

- Epstein Barr Virus (EBV)

- Lyme

- Gut Parasites

- Etc
